iOS Survey Results

For the curious, the results of the survey of Equipd users on what version of iOS they were using painted a fairly clear picture.

• 93% are already on iOS 7 (i.e. 7.0 or above)
• 4% have not yet upgraded but can and will
• 1% can upgrade but don't want to
• 3% said they could not upgrade to iOS 7

The breakdown of the last 3% was quite telling:

• Most of these were running an iPad Gen 1 - a device that cannot upgrade past iOS 5.1.1. As Equipd 3.0 was never going to support iOS 5.X anyway, these results were not totally relevant within the context of Equipd 3.0. But these survey entries were still appreciated!
• Some of the 3% were Android users. While I appreciate the enthusiasm of Android users, these responses definitely not relevant to the survey question!

So ... if we look at the results again, then we can safely say that over 98% of the relevant survey respondents can run iOS 7.

As a result of this survey I settled firmly on the decision that Equipd 3.0 will ONLY support devices running iOS 7.0 or above.
