Version 2.7.0 Released
Equipd version 2.7.0 was submitted to Apple last weekend and was finally just approved. It should be on your App Store within the next 24 hours.
Equipd 2.7.0 includes the following:
Improvements to the Bible Module
- The issue with caching the Bible chapters and displaying them has been resolved.
- The NWT 2013 Revision has been added - and you can view it side-by-side with the Rbi8 1984 Version.
- The 2013 Revision includes the Cross-References and Footnotes
- Rbi8 Footnotes support has been added for Danish, Dutch, French, Japanese, German, Spanish, Portuguese
Important - to resolve any caching issues you may have experienced, or to view the content from the NWT 2013 Revision, you will need to clear your current English Bible cache in Admin > Bible > English > "Clear All Cached Files" ... and then re-download the chapters.
Other New Features
- Images now supported for Jehovah's Will and Good News
- Support added for the 2014 Examining the Scriptures Daily - even though at the time I added this support the EPUB files did not exist. I am hoping the 2014 EPUB will "just work".
- Numerous updates to publications supported for existing languages
- Over 20 new languages added to Equipd:
- Acholi (ac)
- Baoule (ao)
- Bengali (be)
- Bislama (lm)
- Cambodian (cb) Removed in 2.7.1 due to issues
- Ga (ga)

Moving Forward...
Despite initial plans to release Equipd 3.0 this month I have decided to push back the release for finalisation of several key features and quality assurance. Don't worry - it IS coming, and it will be worth the wait.
One of the reasons why 2.7.0 has been released, apart from needing to urgently fix the Bible caching, was to provide a final update for Equipd users stuck on iOS 5.X. Contrary to initial plans, and for a number of very good reasons, iOS 5.X will NOT be supported by Equipd 3.0.
Although iOS 5.X users only represent an extremely small portion of the users of Equipd, I have tried my very best to keep Equipd alive for them, but the advent of OS X Mavericks, iOS 7.0, and also changes in several underlying frameworks I am using, are forcing developers to keep moving forward. And so the time has come. Equipd 3.0 will support iOS 6 and 7 - with iOS 7 being the primary target platform.
----
I hope the 2.7.0 update finds everyone well, and that it provides some exciting features to keep you happy while I build towards the release of Equipd 3.0 in early 2014.
Agape from New Zealand,
Matthew
